CRIME / LAW ENFORCEMENT / PUBLIC SAFETY

Our District has become less safe under the State-wide policies that fail to prosecute for crimes, restrict law enforcements’ ability to pursue suspects and reward lawlessness. The national and local trend of anti-police sentiment has destroyed the law enforcement profession allowing crime to escalate in our cities, districts and has now spread into our rural communities. David is committed to advocating for resources and direction for our Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies to restore confidence in their ability to keep businesses and families safe in District 29 and across the State.

OUR CHILDREN

Our state has seen an increase in school funding per student without realizing a better educated and skilled workforce. Our schools have turned into ideological battlegrounds with the basics of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic lost in the fallout. Our state needs a bright, well-trained, and ambitious workforce to meet the needs of Washington’s public and private employers in the future. Our future generations depend on schools, teachers, parents, and communities working together to train the next leaders of Washington State.

ECONOMY & COST OF LIVING

Small business is the back-bone of our economy. The last 2 years saw a record number of family-owned and small businesses being forced to close by a heavy-handed state of emergency, while big corporate stores cashed in. Washington has realized a 10 Billion dollar budget surplus; any government surplus means you-the taxpayer- have paid too much into the government coffers. Even with a surplus, the leadership in Olympia passed an additional $.17/gallon gas tax in the Transportation bill. David is a strong advocate for small and common-sense government and will work to reign in taxes, call for accountability in government agencies and require non-profits receiving your tax dollars to demonstrate positive results for continued funding. David strongly opposes ANY new taxes such as a carbon tax, mileage tax, Long-term Care tax or income tax.
